What will colposcopy show?
- Normal Result: The cervix may appear completely healthy, and no abnormal cells are noted.
- Abnormal Cells (Precancerous): The cells are not cancer but could become cancer if left untreated.
- CIN Levels (Biopsy Result):
Results may show low grade CIN1 (mild changes often monitored) or high grade CIN2/3 (moderate to severe changes likely requiring removal).
- Diagnosis: If abnormal cells are found, a treatment plan—often immediate removal (like LLETZ) will be discussed to prevent cancer.
